LABORATORIES

The most widely used technology whose applications have touched every aspect of our lives is Electronics. Its amalgamation with Communication has made it more popular and its applications more vast. The ECE department offers best education with the most experienced faculties and well equipped modern laboratories.

The laboratories under this department are:

Analog Circuit Design Laboratory

Different kinds of Op-amp based analog circuits are designed and implemented like adding of two sources to integrate a signal etc. Also circuits with the help of timer chip (IC-555) are studied. Thus understanding of the procedure of designing and its implementation is the aim of this laboratory.


Basic Electronics Laboratory

The idea of basic electronic devices such as diode, BJT, FET etc. as well as working and introduction to instruments like CRO, function generator are given in this laboratory.


Communication Laboratory

Here, students can verify the different communication techniques like modulation and demodulation of amplitude and frequency, phase shift keying, frequency shift keying, multiplexing, channel coding etc.


Digital Electronics Laboratory

Now-a-days digital circuits are used everywhere in our daily life making it important to gather basic knowledge about digital circuits. Under this laboratory, students have to perform various experiments like designing the counter, register etc. using the logic chips.


Digital Signal Processing Laboratory

In this laboratory, students learn to simulate different kinds of signals like unit step, unit impulse, ramp, etc. and study their proper waveform which satisfies their definition. They also perform the Z-Transform, Fourier Transform (Discrete, Fast, Inverse Fourier), and can design filter by methods like Hamming, Blackman, Butterworth etc. and observe their desired output. The MATLAB 7.9 (R2009a) software is used.


Propagation and Antenna Laboratory

In this laboratory, different kinds of Antennas are designed with RF-generator and RF-detector. Also the polar plots and propagation region of the transmitting signal around the antennas are found out. Here, students can understand the procedure of radiating signals through any kind of antennas and also measure the voltage standing wave ratio with the microwave bench. Idea of satellites and use of antennas in daily life are also given.


VLSI Circuit and System Laboratory

Familiarization with the layout design tools and designing of different types of CMOS combinational and sequential circuits using schematic edition is the aim of this laboratory. Also, analysis of different CMOS gates (Transient and DC) with TSPICE programming and obtaining their required layout and checking by DRC is done here. TSPICE Pro15.1, L-EDIT (18.03), S-EDIT softwares are used here.


Workshop

The 7400 Sq.ft. workshop gives students and intensive training in carpentry,welding,fitting, foundry tin smithy. It has all the necessary tools. The welding section consists of gas welding ARC Welding and MIG welding.
