TRAINING & PLACEMENT

Training and Placement Cell is a core area in an institution offering technical education which compliments the efforts of the members of faculty by organizing value-added programmes and providing placement opportunities to the students. It is an established fact that arranging proper placement in today’s hard sell market is not an easy task.

The cell continuously co-ordinates with the various industries organizations and institutions for placement of the students and helps in developing the industry-academic inter-relationship.

The Cell organizes certain orientation programmes, grooming sessions, mock interviews for students of each stream through Console Management System provided by the College at free of cost. Besides, the Cell organizes various summer internship programmes conducted by BSNL, Prasar Bharati, Eastern Railway etc for students to provide them with hands-on experience and training for introducing them to match the professional environment.

Keeping in view of the requirements of industries and releated organization. the Cell also takes initiative to arrange regular inter-active workshops, seminars conducted by IBM, Accenture, Infosys and short-term courses with active participation of academia and industry.

It also takes initiative to develop the soft skills (Aptitude, HR, GD, PI etc) of students to make them feel comfortable in facing the interviews and thus making them better employable. Through the Cell’s initiative Career Development Programmes are also conducted on a regular basis for value added programmes. It also organizes industry-oriented special summer / winter courses in collaboration with reputed Corporate industries, organization and institutions.

Recent Placements - Some Success Stories 2012.

	Qudir Ahmad Ansari from CSE (4th yr) I have been recently placed in two companies :: Before these two companies i appeared in WIPRO after clearing appti & GD i was rejected in technical round it was like hard to digest but i rememberd the lines " Defeat is not the worst of failures, not to have tried is the true failure" and there after i studied even more harder. In Poornam Info Vision, it was a pool campusing of WB around 800-900 stdnts appeared from more than 20 colleges and finally 8 selected and i was among them.There was 5 rounds appti, GD, technical interview, psychometric test & HR. It was tough but a very wonderful experience to get through all these rounds. In CMC Limited, it was also a pool campusing of WB around 1500 stdnt appeared and finally 63 selected. There was 4 rounds: appti, technical interview, HR interview & behavioural round. The last round was a good one and i enjoyed it. I would like to say that the road to success was not easy, but i do belive that u must have confidence in yourself to overcome any situation , you should always look forward irrespective of your background, marks, etc. Everyone can't be born talented but everyone can work hard and so did I, hard work pays off now or later. Luck also plays a vital part in life and so was with me. I would like to tell my juniors that college doesn't matter if u have merit and if u work hard you will always find a path to success and one more thing the difference between the impossible and the possible lies in a your's determination. 	Priyanka Nandi, AIEM The 19th march 2012,the most memorable day of my life. On that day I got my offer letter from WIPRO InfoTech. Every student has the desire to get a job after their studies, and when this happens in reality, I got the chance….I have no words how to express my feelings. But I must consider my college ABACUS INSTITUTE OF ENGINEERING & MANAGEMENT as a great part of my success. I also thankful to all the faculty members and the non-teaching staffs' .They always stand by the students, and also my great friends who helped me always. With out them this was not possible.Again I thank the faculty members for making me eligible to grab such opportunity and hope for the best. Best of luck to all the students!!!!
	Pallabi Bhoumik, AIEM On 1st November, 2011, I received one of the most important calls of my life. It was from our respected Administrative Officer, Mr. Goutam Saha who informed me that I'm eligible to appear for the pool campus interview of Wipro Infotech conducted by AEC Placement Cell, Techno India Group to be held on 3rd November, 2011 at the Techno India College campus. Only the top 5 students from each stream of all the colleges under Techno India Group were allowed. It was a two-day long procedure with four important rounds. Finally, at the end of the 2nd day, I was confirmed selected for the job. Among a few hundred candidates experiencing the interview, only 35 students were selected out of which 4 students were from our college. I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to my college, AIEM for giving me this opportunity and to all the faculty members for being so helpful and cooperative towards us throughout our college academics.
	Anish Mukherjee, AIEM I can firmly say that our college possesses highly experienced teachers and professors,well equiped labs for continuous testing which is required for technical training helped us in our academic performance in the semester exams as well as to acquire sound technical knowledge. Besides academic pursuits the college also encouraged annual fest, football and cricket tournaments, freshers welcome party and so on for all round development. Moreover, I am also thankful to all our teachers, staffs and respective principal sir for providing us such a quality technical education. Last but not the least; I have been selected in the campus interview of TVS MOTORS and I am ever grateful to my college for giving me such a great opportunity.
